REGULAR COMPARISON

-          the adjectives with only one syllable have suffixes to make comparisons

aggettivo	Maggioranza - ER	Uguaglianza AS..AS	Superlativo -EST
young	younger	As young as	youngest
small	Smaller	as small as	Smallest

-          if the adjective with one syllable ends with one VOWEL+CONSONANT (not W) the final consonant must be doubled.

wet	Wetter	As wet as	Wettest
slim	Slimmer	As slim as	slimmest

-          The adjectives with two syllables which end with CONSONANT+Y make comparisons in this way

silly	sillier	As silly as	silliest

-          The adjectives with two or more syllables form comparisons in this way

-          Some adjectives with two syllables have both forms

The superlative must have “THE” in front of the adjective
